Federal agents arrested Homero Figueroa Meza, the alleged leader of the Comando Tlahuica criminal organization and a former official in the Cuernavaca municipal government when Cuauhtémoc Blanco served as the city’s mayor.
According to reports from Mexico’s Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the arrest took place at 11:28 a.m. on Saturday, when “La Tripa” was driving a blue Volkswagen Jetta along Calle 7 in Cholula, Puebla.
Authorities said he was carrying a firearm, marijuana, methamphetamine—commonly known in Mexico as “crystal meth”—and pills believed to be fentanyl, as well as a fake identification card. Investigators also confirmed that there was an outstanding arrest warrant against him for organized crime charges. A woman identified as Sandra “N” was arrested alongside him.

The alleged drug trafficking leader first drew widespread public attention in 2022 after a photograph surfaced showing him alongside Cuauhtémoc Blanco, the former soccer star and former governor of Morelos.
The same photograph also included Irving Eduardo Solano, known as “El Profe,” leader of the Guerreros Unidos criminal group, who was arrested in 2021, and Raymundo Isidro Castro, alias “El Ray,” a regional leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), who was killed during a prison fight at the Atlacholoaya Correctional Facility.
Following the publication of that image, “La Tripa” became a priority target for federal authorities, while the Morelos State Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigative file involving Blanco.

That investigation ultimately contributed to the removal of former Morelos Attorney General Uriel Carmona, who also became the subject of a separate probe by Mexico City prosecutors over the alleged cover-up of the 2022 femicide of Ariadna Fernanda.
Authorities consider “La Tripa” a key figure in understanding the operations of organized crime in Morelos, including extortion schemes and the killings of several municipal mayors in the state.
According to Mexico’s National Detention Registry, Figueroa Meza is currently being held at the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR) Public Prosecutor’s Office in Puebla.
