Lex Ashton Canedo, the man accused of killing a 16-year-old at CCH Sur, had homicidal thoughts for some time according to the diagnosis made by the psychology specialist at the Traumatology hospital in the south, where he has been hospitalized since Monday, September 22.
The 19-year-old told specialists from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) that he has suffered harassment (bullying) throughout his schooling and that at the beginning of last year he suffered from depression; La Silla Rota obtained the diagnosis that was performed on him Tuesday, hours after committing the crime.
Although he received treatment at UNAM, his depression deepened when he was diagnosed with kidney stones in August 2024.
Upon learning he had that condition he went through moments of sadness, discouragement and hopelessness.

During the interview with the specialists, Lex Ashton was handcuffed to the hospital bed. The young man said that in July he completed his three-year period as a high school student, although he still has some subjects left to pass.

During the conversation, the specialist reports that Ashton shows slowness in forming ideas and also slowness in speech. The specialist also found that he has difficulties expressing or perceiving his own emotions and those of others.
“I was inspired by what happens in the United States”
Although he was no longer regularly enrolled, on Monday he went to the Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades campus intending to attack whoever he found.
“I was inspired by what happens in the United States,” he said, apparently referring to attacks carried out at schools in that country, such as what happened in Uvalde, Texas (2022); Sandy Hook, Connecticut (2021); and Columbine, Colorado (1999), among others.
That Monday, he left his house intending to kill several people and attacked Jesús, a 16-year-old teen he did not know. His desire was to kill more, but he could not because of the intervention of a CCH employee, he acknowledged.

According to information obtained by reporter Antonio Nieto, on Monday Lex’s mother saw him leave for the CCH carrying a “guadaña” (it was likely a piolet, a tool used by climbers to hold onto rocks that has one pointed end and another similar to a hammer). She called 911 to warn, but no one stopped the young man.
Lonely and angry
La Silla Rota revealed that Lex posted messages in WhatsApp groups and pages like Reddit where people who identify as “incels” (acronym for involuntary celibates) participate.
“I’m sick of this world, never in my fucking life have I received the love of a woman and honestly it hurts, it hurts to know that the ‘chads’ can enjoy the folds and I can’t.”
“Chads” are popular young men with sexual experience, while “incels” are guys who for one reason or another can’t establish a romantic or sexual relationship with a woman.
According to investigations by the Research Police, Lex posted this kind of messages in groups such as “Farmacia Curincels,” which implies a combination between “curifeo,” that is, an unattractive guy who also has a caustic sense of humor that pushes people away, and an “incel.”
“But you know what, I’m not planning to go alone, I’m going to get back at those bitches and everyone will see it on the news,” Lexton wrote in “Farmacia Curincels.”
On Monday, September 22 he left his home dressed in black, hooded, with cans of pepper spray, two knives and a guadaña.
