La Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas dio a conocer la shortlist de los Premios Oscar, una fase clave dentro del proceso de selección que define qué películas continúan en la carrera rumbo a las nominaciones oficiales. Esta lista funciona como un primer filtro y reduce de manera significativa el número de contendientes en categorías específicas antes del anuncio final.
La shortlist publica únicamente en ciertas categorías, entre ellas Película Internacional, Documental, Cortometraje (en sus distintas variantes), Canción Original y Música Original. A pesar de que compiten decenas de producciones, esta lista de preselección permite identificar a las obras con mayor respaldo dentro de la Academia y que cumplen con los criterios técnicos y artísticos establecidos.
